Our volunteers are an essential part of the Wonders of Wildlife, sharing our mission and passion of celebrating people who hunt, fish and act as stewards of the land and water. Be a part of an amazing expedition that covers more than a mile of immersive trails and exhibits showcasing 800 different species and 35,000 different animals from the wildest places on earth!
The Guest Engagement team guides our visitors on a trip around the world through immersive and interactive experiences. Our highly trained team enhances the WOW experience through helpful interactions, storytelling and world class guest services allowing our visitors to make unforgettable memories.
This is an experience that you will cherish for a lifetime!
Volunteer shifts are typically 3-4 hours in length and at least one day per week. FREE training classes are provided. To get started, fill out and application and we will contact you for a brief interview. We look forward to welcoming you as a Wonders of Wildlife team member!
Guest Engagement Guides/Greeters
Guest Engagement Guides and Greeters are an integral part of what makes Wonders of Wildlife an amazing facility. Guides use knowledge from trainings to engage with guests in various exhibits. Participants talk to guests about the Lewis and Clark journey, how to pet and feed our stingrays, behavior habits of our bears, and lots more! There is a spot for everyone at Wonders of Wildlife. Let us know what you are passionate about and we will find a place for you.
Our volunteer divers assist with underwater maintenance and perform dive shows alongside 35,000 live animals that plunge guests into a tour of the world’s underwater ecosystems. By joining the volunteer dive team at Wonders of Wildlife, you can enjoy diving all over the world, right here at home.
To be considered, applicants must have the following qualifications:
- SCUBA Certification
- 20 logged dives
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- 02 Administration Certification
- Life Support Systems – Life Support Systems (LSS) maintains all pumps, filtration, prepares freshwater and saltwater for exhibits, and so much more. Participants will assist with maintaining and monitoring pumps, backwash filters, and more. LSS volunteers may also earn the opportunity to take the Level 1 Aquatic Animals Life Support Operators exam for certification.
Gain vital experience in daily care and feeding of a wide variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. Duties include cleaning, diet prep, feeding, observation, and record keeping. Animal care volunteers work with and learn from aquarists and keepers.
Family Volunteering – Family Volunteers serve as Guest Engagement Guides at various exhibits. Parents, guardians, or grandparents can work side-by-side with kids ages 10 and up. Participants engage with guests at touch pools, share information with guests about our animals and artifacts, and much more.
High School Students:
Student Interns – Students learn about exhibits in the aquarium and Wildlife Galleries, various artifacts, and how to engage with guests. The is a great opportunity for students to learn multiple skills, begin to build a resume, and add to college applications.
Bring your group or organization to volunteer at Wonders of Wildlife. We welcome all types of groups such as rotary clubs, sororities and fraternities, school clubs, youth groups, corporations, etc. Spend an exciting day in the aquarium or Wildlife Galleries engaging with guests and learning more about our animals and exhibits.
