Varsity Tutors: Living Fossils
When you think of ancient animals, you probably think of fossils of long-extinct species (like dinosaurs) or of early animals that underwent a long process of evolution to become who they are today (like Neanderthals). But did you know that there are still species alive today who were around before the dinosaurs? And that they still look almost exactly the same? Join Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife to explore these “living fossils,” the animals that allow us to look back in time just by seeing them in zoos or the wild. You’ll test your knowledge of which species have been around the longest, and you’ll learn why those select few species haven’t had to adapt very much at all over hundreds of millions of years.
