One person or scientist can only conduct so much research and travel to so many places. This problem is solved by citizen science. It is scientific research conducted by amateur scientists to help acquire data to compare on a larger scale. It is important for citizens to get involved to help further scientific knowledge. iNaturalist is an initiative to collect as much scientific data as possible. People can record their findings from a black bear to a common backyard weed. Come learn why documenting the wildlife and vegetation near you is important in furthering scientific knowledge.
